Name: Samara
Birthday: 8/29/1986
Gender: Female

Interests: I love reading my Bible - I discovered a new joy in it after having delivered it to some Vietnamese Hmong brethren who love it so much that they're willing to be tortured for possessing it. I like reading old 1800's historical fiction (G.A. Henty, etc)., I enjoy ethnic cooking at any time of the day or night, it's a good stress reliever. I am currently into Indian food. If for some reason I am unable to cook, my next-in-line preferences for stress relief are scrubbing the floor and cleaning out the freezer. I enjoy digging in to good theology with friends. Piper is my favorite, Edwards, Augustine, the Puritans, Grudem especially on gender-roles. I enjoy debating anything from theology to immigration policy. I love languages and am currently learning Nepali. My joy is to immerse myself in different cultures. I love different cultures/peoples/languages. I desire that my life would tell the Jesus story!
Expertise: Cooking, debating. I make a tip-top loaf of bread, if I do say so myself :-) There is nothing like the smell of bread while you're kneading it.
Occupation: Operations
Industry: Hospitality

Give to the Winds Thy Fears

Give to the Winds Thy Fears
By Paul Gerhardt, translated from German by John Wesley, 1737.

Give to the winds thy fears,
Hope and be undismayed.
God hears thy sighs and counts thy tears,
God shall lift up thy head.

Through waves and clouds and storms,
He gently clears thy way;
Wait thou His time; so shall this night
Soon end in joyous day.

Still heavy is thy heart?
Still sinks thy spirit down?
Cast off the world, let fear depart
Bid every care begone.

What though Thou rulest not;
Yet heaven, and earth, and hell
Proclaim, God sitteth on the throne,
And ruleth all things well.

And whatsoe’er Thou will’st,
Thou dost, O King of kings;
What Thine unerring wisdom chose,
Thy power to being brings.

Leave to His sovereign sway
To choose and to command;
So shalt thou, wondering, own that way,
How wise, how strong this hand.

Far, far above thy thought,
His counsel shall appear,
When fully He the work hath wrought,
That caused thy needless fear.

Thou seest our weakness, Lord;
Our hearts are known to Thee;
O lift Thou up the sinking hand,
Confirm the feeble knee!

Let us in life, in death,
Thy steadfast truth declare,
And publish with our latest breath
Thy love and guardian care.

You Are Good!

You have turned for me my mourning into dancing! I sing to You, and pray to the God of my life.

My soul magnifies your grace.
